Flashscore sources: Arsenal exploring move for £100 million-rated Morgan Rogers

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a great campaign at Villa Park, helping Unai Emery’s side secure a fourth-place Premier League finish and lift the Europa League trophy.

His performances have also earned him a place in England’s World Cup squad for this summer.

Flashscore reported earlier this week that Arsenal are determined to build on their first Premier League title in 22 years rather than stand still, with reinforcements in attacking areas a priority for Mikel Arteta.

A new option on the left flank is central to those plans, and Rogers is understood to be firmly in the club’s thinking.

He may not be the most obvious solution for such a position, but Arsenal are intrigued by his qualities. While naturally viewed as a versatile attacking midfielder, Rogers has also operated on the left wing on a number of occasions for Villa.

According to Transfermarkt, he started there twice in the Europa League and 15 times in the Premier League this season. Even though his main position is considered to be more of a central attacking role.

Chelsea are also believed to have an interest in the player, but sources indicate Arsenal are particularly attracted by his creativity, athleticism and tactical flexibility, with the club now exploring the possibility of bringing him to North London ahead of next season.

One major obstacle as they attempt to move forward is likely to be Villa’s valuation.

Aston Villa rate the player so highly that they believe his value in the market is stretching towards the £100 million mark. Interest from the new Premier League winners is only going to underline their stance.

They previously sold Jack Grealish to Manchester City for a club-record £100million and would see no reason to allow Arsenal a good deal on one of the country’s most exciting talents - especially given their own growing ambitions under Emery.

Arsenal have assessed many options for this position for the summer.

They looked into a move for Anthony Gordon before his proposed switch to Barcelona gathered pace, while Rafael Leao, Rodrygo and Nico Williams are among big-name players to have been linked.

Any major attacking arrival could place the futures of Leandro Trossard or Gabriel Martinelli under increased scrutiny.
