Torino consider appointing former Italy head coach Gennaro Gattuso after poor form

Gattuso stepped down as Italy manager at the start of April after they failed to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

A play-off defeat against Bosnia & Herzegovina on penalties was the final straw for the 48-year-old, who lasted just nine months in the hot seat after being hired in June 2025.

Only a month since departing the four-time World Cup winners, Gattuso is already being offered his next job. Tuttosport have revealed that Torino are keen on the idea of appointing the former AC Milan stalwart to replace Roberto D'Aversa.

If they do go through with the appointment, he will be offered a three-year contract at the Stadio Olimpico Grande, with club President Urbano Cairo reportedly a huge fan of the Italian.

Torino have endured a disappointing campaign in Serie A, currently sitting 13th in the table, a whopping 21 points behind a European place.
