Phil Foden and Man City reportedly reach agreement on new four-year contract

Foden has won six Premier League titles, the Champions League, two FA Cups and five EFL Cups since breaking through from the City academy at just 17 years old.

Despite his immense success, the England international has been out of favour under manager Pep Guardiola this season, who much prefers Rayan Cherki and Antoine Semenyo to bolster his attack.

Foden’s last Premier League start was in the 2-2 home draw with Nottingham Forest on March 4th, as he struggles for minutes in a City side whose title chances took a hit with a 3-3 draw with Everton on Monday night.

Nevertheless, as per Sky Sports and the BBC, Foden has reached an agreement in principle over a new four-year contract in what is a huge deal for the 25-year-old, who was linked with a move away this summer.

The Guardian reports that Foden’s new deal has an additional 12-month option, showing the faith that Guardiola and the board have in him.

Reports also claim that the midfielder hired the services of Erling Haaland's agent, Rafaela Pimenta, to negotiate details of his new deal, which will last until at least June 2030.
