The numbers are in for the most-watched soccer games in the USA on April 22 to April 28, 2024. While the Premier League, the world's most popular league, dominated the top five, Liga MX grabbed two out of the top three slots, including the no.1 spot on this list.
That honor went to Guadalajara's trip to Atlas on Saturday, with this showdown earning Univision 759,000 average viewers and a rating of 0.34. Roberto Alvarado's 74th-minute goal separated the two teams as the visitors moved into the Final Series spots with this victory.
And this was not the only Mexican top-flight tie to make the top three. In third place is Cruz Azul's 1-0 victory over Toluca from that very same day, with Willer Ditta's 18th-minute goal helping La Máquina Celeste return to winning ways following their 2-2 draw against Atlas roughly a week earlier. This fixture garnered Univision 631,000 average viewers, with an additional 161,000 tuning in to TUDN.
But which match took the runners-up spot? It was a Premier League fixture, but while we were treated to a thrilling North London Derby and Manchester City's crucial 2-0 victory at Nottingham Forest on Sunday, neither claimed the no.2 spot. That honor went to Everton's 1-0 victory at home to Brentford as the Toffees all but secured top-flight survival.
The winning goal came from an unlikely source, with Idrissa Gueye netting the decider at the hour mark. This fixture earned NBC 649,000 average viewers and a rating of 0.38, which interestingly trumps the other matches in the top three.
The aforementioned North London Derby and Nottingham Forest vs. Manchester City showdowns also garnered respectable audiences, with these two games earning USA Network a combined average viewership of just over 1.2 million (593,000 for Arsenal's 3-2 win over Tottenham and 625,000 for Manchester City's trip to the City Ground).

Arsenal prepare for a tricky test this Saturday as the Gunners host Andoni Iraola's high-flying Bournemouth. This is one of the North London giants' final three games of the season, with Arteta's men needing to win every remaining fixture and hope for a slip-up from Manchester City to win the Premier League. The Cherries, meanwhile, are 10th and could enter the top half of the table with a win but must beat a side that has lost only once in the league in 2024.
Manchester City vs. Wolves live this Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC, Telemundo, and Peacock
Manchester City cannot afford to drop points between now and the end of the season if they wish to avoid losing the Premier League title race to Arsenal. However, Guardiola's men face a tricky test at home to Wolves. Fortunately for the hosts, they are on a spectacular 19-game unbeaten streak in the league and have won their last five top-flight fixtures in a row. Wolves, on the flip side, ended their six-game winless streak last weekend when they beat relegation-battling Luton Town 2-1 and will be in for a tough test at the Etihad Stadium.
Girona vs. Barcelona live this Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET on ESPN Deportes and ESPN+
While the Spanish Primera Division title race is all but over, this clash could decide who will be crowned La Liga's best Catalan team of the season. Barcelona currently sit two points ahead of Girona but the latter boast the home advantage. Not only would Real Madrid be officially crowned the Spanish champions if the hosts win but Michel's side could also secure UEFA Champions League qualification for next season. The Blaugrana, meanwhile, will want to keep the title race mathematically ongoing and will want to avoid suffering back-to-back defeats against Girona.
Inter Miami vs. New York RB live this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET exclusively on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV
Will Lionel Messi's Inter Miami side make it four MLS wins in a row when the Florida franchise host close rivals the New York Red Bull this Saturday? That is the question on everyone's mind as the Herons go in search of revenge for the 4-0 loss they suffered at the hands of Sandro Schwarz's men just over a month ago. The visitors, meanwhile, have failed to win all but one of their last five games, drawing a whopping four times. Liverpool vs. Tottenham live this Sunday at 11:30 a.m. ET on Peacock and Telemundo
While Liverpool's title hopes are all but dead, the Reds will want to finish Jurgen Klopp's final season in charge on a bang. This season's UEFA Champions League finalists will be decided this midweek as PSG vs. Dortmund and Real Madrid vs. Bayern Munich bring an end to the semifinals live on Paramount+ and ViX. The first of these two fixtures will see the Ligue 1 champions host their Bundesliga rivals with the goal of overturning their 1-0 defeat from the first leg. Fortunately, Mbappe and Co. have the home advantage but will need to be clinical in front of goal if they are to make it to Wembley.
However, all eyes will be on the other fixture as Los Blancos host fellow European powerhouses Bayern Munich at Santiago Bernabeu in the second leg. These two heavyweights played out a thrilling 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena, with Vinicius Jr. scoring a brace to help his side secure the advantage. Nonetheless, the fun fully gets underway over the weekend, with NBCUniversal's over-the-top video streaming service scheduled to broadcast five English top-flight fixtures in total on Saturday and Sunday. While Arsenal's crucial clash with Bournemouth is not available on Peacock, Manchester City's encounter with Wolves, another key tie in this season's heated title race, is one of three fixtures scheduled for Saturday on the streaming service.
Fulham kicks off Saturday's list of fixtures with their 5 a.m. ET (2 a.m. PT) trip to Brentford while Guardiola's men wrap up the action with their 12:30 p.m. ET (9:30 a.m. ET PT) must-win tie. Sunday, on the flip side, brings only two fixtures but do not be fooled as these are two mouthwatering clashes.

What to watch in women's soccer: May 3rd to May 5th

The Women's Super League resumes this weekend on Saturday, May 4th with a double header featuring Everton vs. Tottenham and Brighton vs. Aston Villa. Arguably, the biggest matches are reserved for Sunday, with many eyes set to tune into Manchester City vs. Arsenal. That match, which kicks off at 8 a.m. ET, will be shown on CBS Sports Network for fans based in the United States. At the moment, City are six points clear of reigning WSL champions Chelsea at the top of the table, albeit the Blues still do have a game in hand. Meanwhile, Arsenal sit in third and will be desperate to leap-frog Chelsea into second by putting a dent in City's title charge this weekend.
Speaking of Chelsea, it has been a rather disappointing past few days for the Blues, who were first eliminated from the UEFA Women's Champions League by Barcelona after a 2-0 loss in London and now will come into their match against Bristol City having lost 4-3 to Liverpool in a midweek WSL tie.
Frauen-Bundesliga
Although the men's team surrendered their grip on the Bundesliga title this season to Bayer Leverkusen, the same certainly does not appear to be happening in the case of Bayern Munich's women's team. Die Roten have yet to lose a match so far this season and sit seven points clear of second-placed Wolfsburg ahead of their upcoming trip to face sixth-placed Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, May 4th. Coupe de France Féminine
Saturday will also feature the 2023-24 Coupe de France Féminine final starring PSG and Fleury 91. For Les Parisiennes, this will be their ninth appearance in the final, with their last win taking place during the 2021/22 edition of the competition. Meanwhile, Fleury 91 will be making their first ever appearance at this juncture. Viewers in the USA can tune in to this match, which kicks off at 8 a.m. ET, on TV via either Fox Sports 2 (English language coverage) or Fox Deportes (Spanish language coverage), while there are various also live streaming options available as well.

Serie A (Women)
On Monday, Fiorentina and Juventus will lock horns, with both team naturally keen on all three points. Although Roma looks set to retain their Scudetto crown, Juventus will be firmly focused on ensuring they secure second place and Champions League football for next season. Meanwhile, the Viola find themselves in third and are also on course for earning a chance to compete in the playoffs for next season's Champions League. Fans in the USA can tune into that match via DAZN starting at 11 a.m. ET.
D1 Féminine
Wednesday, May 8th is set to be a very busy day in D1 Féminine, as there are a whole host of midweek matches taking place that day. One of the highlights will be Bordeaux vs. Olympique Lyonnais, which commences at 9:30 a.m. ET and is available via CBS Sports Network for fans located in the United States. Elsewhere, Fleury 91, who made history with their participation in this season's Coupe de France Féminine final, will resume domestic duties against Montpellier. That tie will be live streamed via DAZN USA (kick off at 9:30 a.m. ET) for viewers based in the USA.

Ralf Rangnick said on Thursday he wished to continue as Austria head coach, with Euro 2024 the immediate goal, delivering a fresh blow to Bayern Munich in their search for a replacement for outgoing boss Thomas Tuchel.
The 65-year-old former Manchester United interim manager had been tipped to replace Tuchel, who leaves at the end of the season after just two years in charge, having failed to secure Bayern a 12th successive Bundesliga crown.
Austria have discovered a rich run of form since Rangnick took over in April 2022, winning 11 of their past 14 matches, losing just one.

Columbus stun Monterrey 3-1 to reach CONCACAF Champions Cup final
Columbus Crew reached the final of the CONCACAF Champions Cup for the first time in the club's history on Wednesday after a superb 3-1 away win over Mexican giants Monterrey sealed a 5-2 aggregate victory.
The Major League Soccer champions, defending a 2-1 lead from last week's first leg in Ohio, advanced to the final thanks to goals from Aidan Morris, Diego Rossi and Jacen Russell-Rowe at Monterrey's 53,000-capacity Estadio BBVA.
Crew will face Mexican club Pachuca in next month's final.

PSG optimistic about Champions League chances despite Dortmund defeat
Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique was hopeful his side would still reach the Champions League final despite a 1-0 defeat away to Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their last-four tie on Wednesday.
"It's football. Very often it is marvelous and other times it is like this. We would have preferred to be in a different situation, but I think when you look at it it was a very even game," the Spaniard told broadcaster Canal Plus after his side were undone by a solitary Niclas Fuellkrug goal in the first half.
