WATCH: Romania's Nicolae Stanciu scores potential Euro 2024 Goal of the Tournament in 3-0 thrashing of Ukraine

Day 4 of Euro 2024 might have just produced the goal of the tournament!

Monday's list of fixtures kicked off with Romania vs. Ukraine, with many fans expecting the war-torn nation to come away with the win.

However, not only did the opposite occur, but Romania also thrashed their opponent, beating Zinchenko and Co. 3-0 to take an early lead in Group E.

And the goal fest began with a sensational opener from Nicolae Stanciu, the Romanian attacker who currently plays for Saudi Pro League side Damac.

This goal was aided by a host of errors in the build-up from the Ukrainian defenders and goalkeeper, with Andriy Lunin sheepishly surrendering possession to the opposition. From there, Dennis Man set up Stanciu to blast an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the net past the helpless keeper. Check out the goal in the clips below (videos are geo-restricted).

Lunin would go on to commit another error, letting Răzvan Marin's second-half attempt on goal slip past him to go 2-0 down. Denis Drăguș got on the scoresheet four minutes after Romania's second to complete this convincing win.

And with that, Tricolorii got their first win in a European Championship for the first time in 24 years. Additionally, this was also the nation's biggest win in history in a major tournament.

With that impressive victory, Edward Iordănescu's side have now gone top of Group E. Next up for them is an interesting showdown with Belgium, who are the favorites to win the group.
