Neuer is arguably the finest goalkeeper of the modern generation. The veteran shot stopper has won a whopping 33 trophies since joining Bayern from Schalke in 2011.
Two Champions Leagues are among the honours he's collected across an illustrious career, and he came close to adding a third this season when the Bavarians were knocked out by Paris-Saint Germain in the semi-finals last week.
Now aged 40 and closing in on retirement, Neuer's future was cast into doubt ahead of the summer, but it appears the German international is ready to commit one more year to the club.
According to Fabrizio Romano, a new contract until June 2027 has been in the "final stages" for 10 days, with a final approval needed from lawyers from both sides and then he will meet the directors before putting pen to paper.
Neuer has made 39 appearances across all competitions in 2025/26, conceding just 36 times and recording 11 clean sheets.
A final campaign at the Bundesliga giants will be music to supporters ears, and hopefully, he can bow out with a third Champions League in 2027.
