Euro 2024: The FA facing UEFA fine after England fans throw beer cups at Southgate following Slovenia draw

According to the Daily Mail, the FA will likely be slapped with a fine from UEFA due to the actions of certain England fans in the stadium for the Three Lions' drab nil-nil draw with Slovenia.

The Euro 2020 runners-up locked horns with Sesko and Co. in their final Group C match with their fans keen on seeing an improved performance from their national team. However, Southgate's men disappointed once more, drawing 0-0 to finish the group stage with five points.

While this was enough to see the continental giants win the group, finishing two points ahead of the Slovenians and runners-up Denmark, the fans were unhappy with this performance, with some displaying this dissatisfaction in an unsavory manner.

The manager went over to the supporters to applaud them and while the majority clapped back, there were some boos. Additionally, two beer cups were thrown at Southgate, which is set to trigger the previously mentioned fine.

Fortunately, the two cups did not hit the manager, instead landing at his feet. However, Albania were fined 12,000 euros for the "throwing of objects" during their opening game against Italy. Scotland were penalized 5,000 for the same offense during their humiliating 5-1 loss to Germany in the opening game of Euro 2024.

While the perpetrators of this offense were the minority, the overwhelming consensus among supporters was that of frustration after failing to win or even impress on the pitch for a second game in a row.

Kobbie Mainoo and Cole Palmer both came off the bench and added some urgency in the second half but the Three Lions could not threaten the Slovenian goalkeeper.

Bukayo Saka did put the ball in the back of the net in the first half but that goal was chalked off by VAR after Phil Foden was flagged as offside in the build-up.

Regardless, the Three Lions won their group and are now through to the round of 16. However, Southgate's men could face the Netherlands in the next stage after the Dutch finished third in Group D following their 3-2 loss to Austria.
