Kylian Mbappé makes history with second half brace against Barcelona

Fans around the world knew that PSG needed Kylian Mbappé to show his worth in the key quarter final match against Barcelona, and luckily for them, the superstar did not disappoint with a stellar performance that included a new record for the Frenchman.

The former Monaco man was instrumental for Luis Enrique's plans this Tuesday, following a subpar performance in the first leg that included no shots on goal. Today, Mbappé stepped up to deliver two goals for PSG, which eventually sealed their spot in the semi-finals against Borussia Dortmund. On top of it, Mbappé added a milestone to his resume after finding the back of the net twice today.

Mbappé is now among the top ten scorers of all time in the continental competition, surpassing legends such as Filippo Inzaghi, Eusebio, Alessandro Del Piero, Sergio Agüero, and more. He is now level with none others than Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Andriy Shevchenko, who scored 48 goals in the tournament but needed way more games to accomplish the feat Mbappé earned today.

To top it all, Mbappé also bagged his fifth and sixth goals against Barcelona in this competition, extending his record against the Catalans as his favorite team to punish with his goals.

Now, Mbappé could very well surpass Alfredo Di Stefano (49 goals) and Thierry Henry (50) during this edition of the Champions League, if he is able to steer PSG past the semis.
