De Bruyne reaches incredible Premier League milestone in Man City's 4-0 win at Fulham

Not only did Manchester City take another huge step towards a fourth consecutive Premier League title after beating Fulham but one of their star players also reached an incredible milestone in their 4-0 victory at Craven Cottage.

That man is Kevin de Bruyne, the Belgian sensation who captained his team in Saturday's early kick-off. The visitors entered this game knowing anything but a win would have handed Arsenal the advantage in the title race, and as a result, their 13th-minute opener was crucial.

De Bruyne set up Josko Gvardiol, who brilliantly scored past Bern Leno to break the deadlock. While the Cityzens scored an additional three goals in the second half, this opener was the most memorable goal as it saw their Belgian superstar equal a brilliant record.

De Bruyne moved joint-second for most assists in Premier League history, with the 32-year-old moving level with the iconic Cesc Fabregas. Furthermore, while the two are tied on 111 assists each, Kevin reached this feat in 92 fewer games than the Spanish maestro.

However, the Man City man is still miles off the all-time record, which is currently held by Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs (162). Given De Bruyne's age and injury record lately, not many people see the Belgian remaining in the Premier League long enough to close that 52-assists gap.

Regardless, what matters most is the win and Guardiola's men secured that. The 4-0 victory saw the Cityzens move two points clear of Arsenal, with the Gunners taking to the field on Sunday. Mikel Arteta's side travel to Manchester United for their penultimate game of the season and while a win at Old Trafford is likely, the North London giants will need a slip-up from Manchester City in their final two games to win the league.
