Norwegian international winger Andreas Schjelderup has been granted a visa to the United States. The Norwegian Football Association (NFF) confirms this to Dagbladet.no.
In November last year, Schjelderup was sentenced to 14 days in prison in Denmark for sharing a video with sexual content of people under the age of 18.
In his statement to the court in Denmark, Schjelderup stated:
"I received the video on Snapchat as a bad joke. And then I forwarded it to a group of four friends, and continued this bad joke. I only saw it for a few seconds. I didn't see the whole video, but I get that there was something sexual, and that there were two young men."
Schjelderup, who has been in great form lately for Benfica and converted a penalty in the derby against Sporting CP, was handed a one-year probation period and will not serve any community service.
