Preview

Group D in the 2024 Copa América will put an end to the group stage on Tuesday, setting the stage for the KO Stage to be played from July 4 onward. Both games will be held simultaneously to avoid foul play from any teams involved, but the most relevant match in this lot will undoubtedly be Brazil vs Colombia, who will be looking to win the top spot of the group when they play at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.

Elsewhere, In order of relevance, USA and Uruguay will lock horns with the Yanks fighting for their lives, since Uruguay are top of the group with everything in their favor. The game will be held at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

The other match will see Costa Rica and Paraguay playing what could be their final game of the competition, with Los Ticos still involved in the competition and Paraguay trying to save face after two losses. The match that will conclude the group stage of what has been an entertaining Copa América will be held at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas.

Permutations

Colombia enter Matchday 3 as group leaders, but their No.1 spot is still in jeopardy since there is one team that could leapfrog them. A draw and obviously a win would see Colombia through as group winners, increasing their options to win the competition.

Colombia's rivals on Tuesday, Brazil, are the team that could condemn Los Cafeteros to the runner-up spot, as A Canarinha are still unbeaten in the tournament but not with a perfect record following a win and a draw. A win will see Brazil through as group winners, while a draw will also see Vinicius and Co. in the KO Stage, but only as runners-up.

Costa Rica have a slight chance to reach the KO stage, but for that to happen, Los Ticos cannot afford to drop points. The Central American side needs to win their game and see Brazil losing their game. The Costa Rican side will also need Brazil's result to be combined with theirs for them to have a better goal difference. If that does not happen, Los Ticos will need to pack their bags.

After losing two games in this competition, Paraguay have already been eliminated from the tournament. The only thing left for Daniel Garnero's men to do is to save a bit of their pride and try to finish in third place, something they will only accomplish if they beat Costa Rica.

Quarter finals bracket: Who will face who in the knockout stage?

The winner of this group -as things stand, Colombia- will get to face Panama, who shocked the USMNT and the world by beating them on Matchday 2 and adding another win in their clash against Bolivia to secure the runner-up spot.

The runners-up in this group are bound to lock horns with the winner in Group C, which turned out to be Uruguay. As things stand, the loser of the game between Colombia and Brazil is set to give us a game to remember in the Quarter finals, witha South American classic about to get to our hands.
