The case dates back to December 17th, 2024, when he was provisionally suspended after an anti-doping test revealed the presence of the banned substance meldonium.
Later, on June 18th of 2025, the FA officially charged the player. Almost a year and a half after the test was carried out, the final decision was announced, with Mudryk receiving the maximum sanction, a four-year ban
According to available information, he will now appeal this decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The 25-year-old has not played for Chelsea since November 28th, 2024, when he scored in a UEFA Europa Conference League match shortly before his provisional suspension.
Chelsea signed him from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2023 for a fee that could reach £88 million, offering him a contract until 2030, with an option to extend for a further season.
So far, neither the London club nor the player's representatives have issued any official statements following the announcement of the sanction, and the FA has not made any further public comments.
