'Wonderful challenge': Feyenoord present Devy Rigaux as new technical director

Rigaux, 38, spent five years at Club Brugge as a recruitment coordinator and technical director. Under his tutelage, Club Brugge won two league titles and completed several big-money sales, with Ardon Jashari (€39M to Milan), Maxim De Cuyper (€20M to Brighton), and Chemsdine Taibi (€20M to Sunderland) all on his resume.

At Feyenoord, Rigaux will take over from the departed Dennis te Kloese, who joined CF Monterrey in Mexico. Te Kloese, along with manager Robin van Persie, was criticised heavily by fans in the latter stages of the 2025-26 season, in which Feyenoord finished second and thus qualified for the League Phase of next season's UEFA Champions League.

Rigaux will work closely with Van Persie and newly appointed general manager Robert Eenhoorn.

"Feyenoord is a fantastic club to be joining," Rigaux said in his first interview with the club.

"There is a solid foundation at De Kuip, the academy at Varkenoord is bursting with talent, and there have been considerable sporting successes. Mine is the honourable task of building on that. That is a wonderful challenge that I am grabbing with both hands."

Feyenoord have won just one trophy since Arne Slot left the club in 2024 - PSV were beaten in the 2024 Johan Cruyff Shield after penalties.

"Leaving Club Brugge for this wonderful step will of course be painful, but I look back on my time there with enormous gratitude and affection," Rigaux continued.

"I have experienced every brilliant aspect of the club, learned a huge amount and won many trophies. I am taking all of those experiences with me to Feyenoord. I cannot wait to get started."

Rigaux will start his new job on June 1st.
