Nottingham Forest waiting anxiously on Gibbs-White availability for Aston Villa clash

Gibbs-White suffered a horrific facial injury during Forest's impressive 3-1 victory over Chelsea on Monday during a collision with goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

Vitor Pereira's playmaker was instantly bandaged up and needed several stitches for the wound, sharing a gruesome image on social media after the game.

Unfortunately, this incident has put the 26-year-old in major doubt of featuring against Aston Villa on Thursday night, with manager Pereira sharing an update in his press conference.

"We'll see. We'll see tomorrow if he's able to play. It is not a question for me, it's a decision between the player and the medical department," the Portuguese boss said.

"We will have a last meeting to decide. We have a plan with him and without him."

Gibbs-White has arguably been one of the Premier League's best attacking midfielders this term, scoring 16 goals in all competitions and providing seven assists.

Forest will hope he is available as they aim to build on their 1-0 lead on aggregate at Villa Park.
