What Time Are the World Cup Games? Full Match Schedule & Kickoff Times

The countdown to the 2026 FIFA World Cup is well and truly on, and following the completion of the draw in December, football fans across the world can now map out their tournament schedule.

Regardless of whether you are watching at home or travelling over to the USA, Mexico or Canada to watch the action live, a tournament of this size needs some planning, and the time slots for all fixtures have now been released. 

What are the daily broadcast times for the World Cup group stage matches? 

The group stages of the 2026 FIFA World Cup will begin on Thursday, 11 June, with the opening match between Mexico and South Africa at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, Mexico. The match will kick off at 15:00 (ET), 19:00 (UTC / GMT) and 20:00 (UK time).

Following that, South Korea will take on the winners of a European playoff at the Estadio Guadalajara, also in Mexico. This match will kick off at 22:00 (ET), 02:00 (UTC / GMT) and 03:00 (UK time).

Across the first two rounds of fixtures during the group stages, four matches will be played each day. For the final round of fixtures, six matches will be played each day. Due to the various time zones in play, 13 different kick-off times will be in operation. These are as follows:

  • 12:00 (ET), 17:00 (UK / BST), 16:00 (UTC / GMT) – Three group stage matches.

  • 13:00 (ET), 18:00 (UK / BST), 17:00 (UTC / GMT) – Five group stage matches.

Luckily for England fans, two of their group stage matches are set to kick off at 21:00, and the other is scheduled for 20:00, making all three of their early matches at the tournament accessible for fans in the United Kingdom.

There will not be as many kick-off times during the knockout stages of the tournament.
