Magnificent Sirius five points clear again as Bjerkebo double downs Orgryte

Sirius 2-0 Orgryte

After winning their first five matches, Sirius rallied last time out to preserve their unbeaten start in a draw at Hacken, but with six of the other seven in the top half winning this weekend, the pressure was on to get back to winning ways.

With two thirds of the possession in the first half, the home side had more than enough of the ball, but when Orgryte did wrestle it back, they looked dangerous, as Jerome Tibbling passed up a good opportunity.

It was Sirius finishing that was deserting them - of the 17 shots they took, only three were on target. However, one of those three, six minutes before the break, allowed them to make the breakthrough.

A cross from the left wing wasn't cleared by Mikael Dyrestam, instead diverting it to Isak Bjerkebo, who still had plenty to do, before finally creating shooting space and firing low across the goalkeeper and into the bottom corner.

Neo Jonsson had the chance to put the game beyond doubt in a second half that was more even, but with 17 minutes to play, it was Bjerkebo who was again the difference maker.

Joakim Persson chased a long ball down the right, got beyond his marker and squared it for Bjerkebo to put the ball beyond the goalkeeper and into the roof of the net for what is already his eighth goal in seven Allsvenskan matches this season.

The Uppsala side are up to 19 points from a possible 21, five ahead of Hammarby and Elfsborg. for Orgryte it's a fourth defeat in their last five and they stay in the bottom three after they were overtaken by Kalmar earlier this weekend.
