Bournemouth prepare for life after Iraola and Senesi as replacements shape up

It emerged this week that head coach Iraola will depart when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Defender Senesi is also set to move on, with his deal running down as he seeks a new challenge elsewhere - and Tottenham are a leading option at this stage.

Their pending exits represent a significant moment for the south coast club, with both figures playing key roles in Bournemouth’s recent progress.

Senesi’s departure will also see him follow other centre-backs out of the club over the past year, including Dean Huijsen, who joined Real Madrid, and Illia Zabarnyi, who moved to Paris Saint-Germain.

However, the club’s hierarchy have already begun planning for the future, moving quickly to ensure stability and continuity ahead of next campaign.

Marco Rose has emerged as the leading candidate to replace Iraola. The German coach has impressed president of football operations Tiago Pinto with his tactical vision and philosophy.

His work at Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig, where he was known for progressive, attacking football, has strengthened his case.

Bournemouth are also becoming active in the transfer market as they look to reinforce key areas of the squad. One player under consideration already is Bologna centre-back Jhon Lucumi.

The 27-year-old defender has been monitored over the past year and remains a player of interest as the club assess reinforcements.

Bournemouth are determined to act decisively in both their managerial search and recruitment strategy, aiming to minimise disruption and build on the foundations laid in recent seasons.
