Salah back as Slot gives Liverpool injury update ahead of Aston Villa clash

In a huge clash that could decide Champions League football, the Reds travel to Villa Park locked on points with Unai Emery's men in fourth position.

Slot is under pressure to secure a place in Europe's elite competition after it was confirmed he would be staying on as Liverpool manager beyond this season.

Ahead of the clash against Villa, the Dutchman offered a mixed injury update, confirming that defender Ibrahima Konate has trained and will be available, along with Mohamed Salah.

But it's a "wait and see" on goalkeeper Alisson Becker and attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz, with the duo recovering from their respective issues.

"Ibou's okay, he trained with us," Slot said.

"Mo will be available tomorrow for only a few minutes, but hopefully can come in.

"Alisson - strange with us again. We'll see where he is tomorrow, if he's ready or if he has to train with us for one more week.

"Florian, let's see how fit he is tomorrow. He's on antibiotics, so we'll see if he's ready to play tomorrow."

A victory in this fixture would all but secure fourth position ahead of their final game against Brentford due to their superior goal difference over the Villans.
