Mjallby get the better of Malmo again as Hammarby and GAIS in cruise control

Malmo 2-3 Mjallby

Champions Mjallby are beginning to look like the side they were last season, winning back-to-back games for the first time this season and going unbeaten in four with an away success at Malmo, who lost 3-2 for a second home match in succession.

There was exactly a minute on the clock when the visitors took the lead - a deep cross from the right was headed back across goal by Villiam Granath for Jacob Bergstrom to nod home.

1-0 was how things stayed until early in the second half, when Abdoulie Manneh found Elliot Stroud in midfield and he kept going and going down the left side before jinking his way into the area and firing a fantastic second into the bottom corner.

Malmo threw on Taha Ali to be their difference-maker, and a difference was exactly what he made two minutes later, getting on the end of a Sead Haksabanovic through ball and finishing his first of the season in style. But then, it was MAIF's turn to make an inspired change, bringing on Jeppe Kjaer, who needed six minutes to send in a pacy cross which Bergstrom stretched for and headed home.

MFF gave themselves hope again nine minutes from time as the roles were reversed - Ali squared the ball to Haksabanovic at the edge of the area, and he fired through the crowd, but it was not enough for Malmo, who are joined on 10 points after six games by today's victors.

Elfsborg 1-1 AIK

A point clear in third place are Elfsborg, but that point is their only one for two games after today's draw with AIK, off the back of a surprise loss to Kalmar last time.

The two goals came early on and within a minute of each other - the home side took the lead when a low ball into the area from Frederik Ihler was guided home by Ari Sigurpalsson in the eighth minute, before AIK hit right back when Bersant Celina's cross was powered in by the head of Zadok Yohanna.

That was enough for the Solna side to end a run of two defeats, but they remain consistently inconsistent with two wins, two draws and two losses thus far.

Hammarby 3-0 Vasteras

Three second-half goals got Hammarby back to winning ways, inflicting a first loss in three on newly-promoted Vasteras who remain safely in mid-table.

Successive draws have somewhat dampened an exciting start from Bajen, and it looked to be more of the same until the 67th minute, when a Hampus Skoglund ball was picked up by Victor Lind 25 yards out, and the record signing sent a delightful first-time strike flying into the top corner.

A quickfire second arrived six minutes later when a Victor Eriksson header hit the crossbar, but Vasteras failed to clear, and Paulos Abraham powered in the follow-up. The home side rounded off a one-sided final quarter when Montader Madjed curled in number three with four minutes to play.

GAIS 4-0 Orgryte

A thoroughly one-sided Gothenburg derby went the way of GAIS, who finally got their first win of the season and have gone three unbeaten, while Orgryte have taken just one point from their last four.

It took until the 33rd minute for the deadlock to be broken, as Max Andersson cut in from the right and picked out the near-post bottom corner with an accurate finish, and the lead was doubled within a minute of the second half beginning, as Samuel Salter volleyed in an Andersson header.

Six minutes later, it was pretty much game over when the Mackerels were awarded a penalty, slotted home by Joackim Fagerjord, then the scoring was finished off in the 90th minute when Oscar Pettersson steered in from 10 yards out.
