Randers 1-2 FC Copenhagen
The new FC Copenhagen coach, Bo Svensson, has apparently brought a lot of tailwind with him into the job.
After the goal show in the debut against Silkeborg, FC Copenhagen recorded a somewhat fortunate 2-1 away win against Randers FC on Sunday evening.
The home side were clearly the best in three quarters of the match, but conceded two goals in the last eight minutes. The visitors thus move up to seventh place, while Randers is now only four points ahead of Silkeborg below the relegation line.
The home side otherwise deservedly took the lead after 65 minutes when Mathias Greve floated a corner to the back post, where Daniel Hoegh stole in front of Mohamed Elyounoussi and directed the ball past FC Copenhagen keeper Dominik Kotarski.
However, against the run of play, the Copenhagen visitors restored parity eight minutes from the end when Randers keeper Paul Izzo spilled a long-distance shot from Elias Achouri, and Viktor Claesson pounced on the rebound to make it 1-1.
With only seconds remaining, FC Copenhagen scored the winner when Andreas Cornelius directed a cross from Achouri into the path of William Clem, who volleyed home past the helpless Izzo.
Silkeborg IF 3-1 OB
In the other match of the relegation playoffs in the Danish Superliga, Silkeborg, who were licking their wounds after last weekend's humiliation against FC Copenhagen, on Sunday got a much needed boost to their hopes of escaping relegation when they came from behind to defeat OB 3-1 on home turf.
The visitors from Odense, however got off to a bright start after 28 minutes when Nicolai Larsen could only parry a shot from Rasmus Falk and Marcus McCoy scored on the rebound.
The home side, however, drew level after 67 minutes when Tonni Adamsen ran on to a delivery inside the box and lifted the ball for the onrushing Pedro Ganchas who headed the ball home. Only four minutes later, the home side turned the tide in their favour when Adamsen again turned provider, this time for Oliver Ross who found the net with a clinical first-timer into the far corner.
Adamsen then rounded off an impressive performance when he got on the scoresheet himself with only one minute remaining
Silkeborg is thus in 11th place only one point behind Fredericia on the right side of the relegation line, but Fredericia will not be in action until Monday at home against Vejle.
