Inter Miami interest turns Casemiro’s head as exit decision nears

The Brazilian has already decided to leave Manchester United at the end of the season, despite enjoying a strong campaign that has briefly raised the possibility of a U-turn.

Insiders insist that will not happen and that his departure from the Premier League is set for the summer. The next task is to identify the right challenge.

Until now, it had been anticipated that a move to Saudi Arabia would be the most likely outcome.

But news has begun to emerge that Inter Miami hold genuine interest and are starting to test the water. Sources indicate that the project being built would resonate with 34-year-old Casemiro on multiple levels.

The lifestyle aspect is important - and Florida is understood to be a particularly intriguing destination within the United States.

Sources say it is one of his favourite parts of America and that the opportunity to combine living there with a central role in one of football’s most ambitious projects is attractive.

Casemiro won the Champions League five times during his time with Real Madrid and the prospect of becoming part of another dominant side would hold appeal.

Inter Miami are reigning Major League Soccer champions and the timing of any attempt to sign him is another interesting factor. MLS is entering a pivotal period, with the 2026 World Cup on the horizon.

The league is actively positioning itself to capture global attention and increased viewership.

The strategy has already led to high-profile recruitment - with Antoine Griezmann set to join Orlando City - and further significant additions are being explored.

Inter Miami, co-owned by David Beckham, remain at the centre of everything.

Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Rodrigo De Paul are key names leading the roster - but there is intent to add another proven elite-level experienced player, if possible.

Initial discussions have taken place around the idea of Casemiro, and while the financial structure of any deal still requires clarity, Miami’s interest is concrete.

For Casemiro, the appeal would not be not purely financial - which is notable given the scale of offers expected from Saudi Arabia.

Al Ittihad are currently the most prominent club in that market tracking his situation and they would be prepared to offer a package that would exceed his current earnings.

He will leave Man United as one of their highest-paid players, earning in excess of £300,000 per week, and Saudi interest would reflect such status.

There are believed to be two other MLS clubs monitoring developments, too, but Miami have a serious chance to turn his head.

At this stage, Casemiro is still in the early phases of assessing his options, but life after Old Trafford is certainly looking bright.
