The Superliga leading goalscorer, Franculino, suffered an injury in December last year and was injured for most of the spring. And that injury was fatal for FC Midtjylland's chances in the race for the championship, says FC Midtjylland sports director Kristian Bach Bak in a podcast with fan media "Sort Snak".
"This injury was a blow to everyone - including Franculino himself. It's mostly a shame for him, but if we had had 'Francu' in the version (that he was for most of the autumn, ed.) throughout the season, we would probably have had another title", says Bach Bak.
FC Midtjylland finished in second place after AGF in the race for the Danish title but won the Danish Cup final against FC Copenhagen.
