Club América vs Guadalajara live this Saturday at 8:50 a.m. ET on Univision, TUDN USA, and ViX

El Súper Clásico returns this Saturday with Club América hosting Guadalajara in a crucial Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes showdown. These two Mexican powerhouses enter this clash on the back of mixed form, with the hosts sitting 12th in the table after suffering back-to-back defeats. Chivas have fared better this term, winning three out of their six Apertura fixtures, and thus sit sixth in the table. The visitors are unbeaten in their last four matches but have failed to beat the Eagles in their last three league encounters.

Tottenham vs Arsenal live this Sunday at 9 a.m. ET on Telemundo, USA Network, and fuboTV

The 2024-25 Premier League season resumes this weekend, with all eyes being on one fixture. That is the North London Derby, which headlines Matchday 4 in the Premier League. Arsenal travel to Tottenham this Sunday as Mikel Arteta's men look to overcome an injury crisis and return to winning ways. Spurs, on the flip side, will not want to suffer a third consecutive home defeat against Arsenal but will face a tough test.

The 2024-25 UEFA Champions League commences this midweek, with Juventus vs PSV and Young Boys vs Aston Villa kicking off the revamped tournament this Tuesday. However, all eyes will be on Liverpool's trip to AC Milan, with Arne Slot making his European debut with the Merseyside giants. The Reds won 2-1 when they last visited the San Siro back in 2021 but that was when Klopp was at helm. Can Slot continue this streak?

TV Schedules for ESPN Deportes and Streaming info for ESPN+: Sept. 12-16, 2024

Many soccer leagues and tournaments will be offered this weekend on ESPN Deportes and ESPN+. The streaming platform and the Spanish-language channel will team up this weekend to cover up to 150 matches between amateur and professional soccer games.

The Spanish-language feed will be able to cover the full extent of this week's La Liga action, where Barcelona are dominating the lot and will want to keep things that way. The competition will return on Friday and go on all the way to Monday, with additional matches being played next week.

This will not be the only top European competition being covered by the channel and the streaming service, as the Belgian Pro League, the Eredivisie, the Bundesliga, the Bundesliga 2 and the Spanish Segunda División will also be included on ESPN+'s schedule. While these leagues will be the top attraction for professional soccer fans, NCAA Soccer will be the main source of entertainment on ESPN+, as the platform will include over 100 games from both the men's and women's categories.

PSG refuse League order to pay Mbappe disputed €55 million

Paris Saint-Germain refused Thursday to pay departed striker Kylian Mbappe a disputed 55 million euros ($60.6m) despite a French league (LFP) order to do so earlier in the day.

The LFP oversees all matters concerning the top two tiers of soccer in France, but PSG said they would seek a legal ruling elsewhere.

The 25-year-old striker says PSG owe him 55 million euros in wages and bonuses, but the Parisians say Mbappe agreed to waive the money in August 2023.

On Thursday, the LFP commission told PSG to pay, reportedly within a week, sparking a response from the Qatari-backed club. Read more…

Long-awaited case on Man City charges to start on Monday: report

A long-awaited hearing into 115 charges leveled against Manchester City is set to begin on Monday with potentially huge ramifications for the Premier League champions.

Sky Sports reported on Thursday that the independent commission in charge of the case will begin next week.

City stand accused of 80 breaches of financial rules between 2009 and 2018, plus a further 35 of failing to cooperate with a Premier League investigation.

Since a 2008 takeover from Sheikh Mansour, a member of the United Arab Emirates royal family, City have been transformed into the dominant force in English soccer.

They have won eight of the last 13 Premier League titles, including a record four consecutive league crowns in the past four seasons. City also lifted the Champions League for the first time in 2023. Read more…

Ten Hag hits back at Ronaldo criticism over Man Utd ambition

Erik ten Hag on Thursday brushed aside Cristiano Ronaldo's criticism about his ambition at struggling Manchester United, saying the Portugal star is "far from Manchester".

Ronaldo's second spell at United ended in a high-profile break-up in November 2022 after he made stinging comments about his Dutch boss.

The 39-year-old Al-Nassr player again hit out at Ten Hag this week, saying his attitude was too negative for a club of the stature of United.

When Ronaldo's comments about his mentality were put to him at a Thursday press conference, Ten Hag said: "He said that Manchester United can't win the Premier League. No, he said this if you read the article very well.

"So, he's far away in Saudi, far from Manchester. Everyone is entitled to have an opinion. It's OK." Read more…

Power struggle and chaotic player trading: What's going at Chelsea?

LA Dodgers co-owner Boehly was the face of a 2022 takeover after sanctions imposed on Russian billionaire Abramovich forced a quick sale of the club.

However, the vast majority of the world-record £2.5 billion price for a soccer club came from Eghbali's private equity group Clearlake Capital.

After Boehly's brief stint as the club's sporting director during the first six months of the new regime in west London, Eghbali has become the most hands-on figure within the ownership group.

The relationship between the pair is said to have deteriorated in recent months, with differing opinions over the club's recruitment policy, poor results, and the failure to make progress on the building of a new stadium.

One of the key disagreements came over the position of now-departed manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Bloomberg have reported that Boehly and Eghbali are looking into whether they could buy the other's Chelsea shares. Read more…

Huge boost for Arsenal as manager Mikel Arteta agrees new three-year deal ahead of North London Derby

In a huge boost for Arsenal and the club's long-term aspirations, manager Mikel Arteta has committed his future to the club by agreeing a new three-year contract, as revealed by David Ornstein of The Athletic.

The highly-rated Spaniard has accepted terms that will keep him at the Emirates Stadium until June 2027 as the North London giants continue their search for a first Premier League title since 2004.

Arteta's previous deal, which he signed back in 2022, was set to expire at the end of the current campaign. As a result, this has ended the uncertainty regarding the manager's future amid rumors of interest from Europe's biggest clubs.

Furthermore, Mikel has reportedly also secured a significant pay rise. Read more…

De Bruyne Belgium future in doubt after "unacceptable" France defeat

Belgium captain Kevin De Bruyne's future with the national side has been thrown into doubt after he slammed his teammates as "not good enough" after a 2-0 Nations League defeat to France.

The 33-year-old Manchester City midfielder vented his frustration at the players and coach Domenico Tedesco's tactics after Monday's loss in Lyon.

De Bruyne complained a lot was not right with the Red Devils -- third in the 2018 World Cup -- who sank after a promising first 20 minutes.

De Bruyne was also filmed on the sidelines saying several times to technical director Franky Vercauteren "Ik stop" ("I stop") with the national team. Read more…

Man Utd post losses for fifth straight year

Manchester United on Wednesday posted net losses of £113.2 million ($148 million) for 2023/24 despite earning record revenues -- their fifth straight year of losses.

In the year to June 30, 2024, the Premier League club recorded record revenues of £661.8 million -- up 2.1 percent -- driven by record commercial and matchday revenues.

United incurred costs of £47.8 million in "exceptional items", mostly related to Jim Ratcliffe's purchase of a minority stake in the club, which was completed in February.

United finished eighth in the Premier League in the 2023/24 season -- their lowest finish since 1990 -- and exited at the group stage of the Champions League.

But Erik Ten Hag's men won the FA Cup -- beating Manchester City in the final at Wembley for a second trophy in two years. Read more…

Arsenal's Odegaard set to miss key Premier League matches

Martin Odegaard looks likely to miss Arsenal's Premier League matches against Tottenham and Manchester City as well as the start of the Champions League after injuring his ankle, according to Norway's team doctor.

The Gunners captain had an MRI scan after sustaining the injury in a challenge by Austria's Christoph Baumgartner in Norway's 2-1 Nations League victory against Austria in Oslo on Monday.

"This type of ankle injury often takes at least three weeks to heal. Anything less is just a bonus. And it may take longer," national team doctor Ola Sand told Wednesday's VG newspaper. Read more…
