Bayern Munich star Harry Kane eyeing UEFA Champions League record in highly-anticipated semifinal vs. Real Madrid

While Harry Kane unfortunately missed out on Bundesliga glory in his debut season for Bayern Munich, the English striker has enjoyed a fantastic individual campaign and could make UEFA Champions League history on Tuesday when his side face Real Madrid in the semifinals.

The German giants face Los Blancos in the penultimate stage, with Thomas Tuchel's men welcoming the Spanish heavyweights to the Allianz Arena for the first leg. This will not be an easy test for Bayern Munich given their struggles this season but in Harry Kane, the hosts boast one of football's deadliest strikers.

The former Tottenham sensation has scored a whopping 42 goals in 42 appearance this term, thus averaging a goal per game for his German employers. In the UEFA Champions League alone, the 30-year-old has seven goals, with only Kylian Mbappe (8) boasting more this campaign. Additionally, the Englishman has three assists to his name.

This means with 10 goal involvements this season in continental football, Kane is on the edge of making UEFA Champions League history. Never before has an English player had 11 goal contributions in this competition in a single season, which means Kane is a goal or assist away from claiming this record outright.

He is currently tied with Manchester United and Liverpool icons David Beckham and Steven Gerrard with 10 each as well. However, Kane is not the only player within touching distance of individual glory.

Jude Bellingham, another Three Lions sensation, also promises to take center stage in this thrilling match-up. The Real Madrid midfielder, who has scored 21 times this campaign, has eight goal contributions in Europe so far (four goals and four assists) and is only three shy of stealing this record.

The 20-year-old drew blanks across both legs against Manchester City in the quarterfinals but could easily make history across the two legs against Bayern Munich and possibly the final, should Real Madrid get past the German giants. It remains unclear which English talent will emerge with the bragging rights but one thing is for certain: Bayern Munich vs. Real Madrid is an unmissable showdown.
