Imperious PSG come from behind again to clinch 2025/26 Champions League crown

PSG were behind for large periods of the final after Arsenal took the lead in the sixth minute through a brilliant Kai Havertz strike from a tight angle. PSG stayed in the tie and pressed on for an equaliser; however, their moment came in the 65th minute when Ousmane Dembele found the bottom corner from the penalty spot.

A nervy end to normal time and extra-time meant that the final was decided by a penalty shootout. It was there that PSG's experience of the big stage stood tall as the Parisians beat Arsenal 4-3 to retain their crown.

After emphatically thrashing Inter in the 2024/25 final, PSG had an impressive start to their title defence. The Parisians won their first three league phase games, including a 2-1 win away at rivals Barcelona.

A mixed end to the league phase saw PSG miss out on automatic qualification for the last 16, and they only just squeezed past Monaco in the play-offs. From there, though, Luis Enrique's side went into winning mode as they outclassed English giants Chelsea and Liverpool before edging past Bayern Munich in a thrilling semi-final tie.

It might not have been pretty, and it was far from vintage PSG, but they have a knack for getting the job done and that is exactly what they did.
