'We wore them down", says happy Riemer after Denmark's demolition of North Macedonia

Three goals within ten minutes (one from Mikkel Damsgaard and two from Gustav Isaksen) in the second half turned the tide solidly in Denmark's favour before Christian Norgaard completed a glorious evening for the Danes.

"I think the two halves were similar. The only difference was that we scored the goals after the break. I think we did a lot of things right before the break. We were patient; we had a lot of good runs. We were close and almost there", says Brian Riemer and states:

"My message to the players at half-time, where we made small adjustments, was to keep the pace. We went into half-time in a good place and knew we would wear them down if we kept the pace", says Brian Riemer, who was particularly pleased with the Danish defense, which kept North Macedonia from creating any big chances. Before the break, they didn't have a shot on goal at all.

"We played with a completely new defense that kept North Macedonia from having any chances. Christian Norgaard played a flawless game even though he usually plays in midfield", said Brian Riemer, who also praised the performances of Mikkel Damsgaard and Gustav Isaksen for their attacking efforts.

Denmark will now face the Czech Republic in the playoff final for the World Cup on Tuesday evening in Prague.
