Matchweek 15 is currently underway in the English Premier League, with Manchester giants Manchester City and Manchester United both suffering slip-ups on Saturday. Sunday shifts the focus to London's heavyweights, with Arsenal visiting Fulham. However, all eyes will be on North London as the in-form Chelsea visit Tottenham in the standout match of this round.

Enzo Maresca's side enter this fixture in near-impeccable form, having thrashed Southampton 5-1 in their most recent outing. That result was enough to see the Blues leapfrog Arsenal into second thanks to a super goal difference, with Disasi, Madueke, Nkunku, Palmer, and Sancho all getting on the scoresheet.

With that, Chelsea stretched their unbeaten run to six Premier League matches, beating Aston Villa and Newcastle while picking up points against Arsenal and Manchester United during this stretch. As a result, many now wonder whether the club could mount a serious title push with the two-time UEFA Champions League winners now sitting behind only Liverpool.

However, Maresca has played things down, arguing that his team are the favorites to win in Sunday's highly-anticipated battle.

"First of all, the fans are going to be there, no doubt," the Italian tactician said, as per the Daily Mail. "And second, we are not favorites, absolutely not. They are playing European competition, like us, we are there. But not because we are second in the table, we are favorite, absolutely not."

Despite the head coach's attempt to temper expectations, it should be pointed out that Chelsea won both home and away against Tottenham last season, albeit under the reign of Mauricio Pochettino.

The West London giants triumphed 4-1 at Spurs last season, with Nicolas Jackson scoring a hat-trick and Tottenham receiving two red cards before the hour mark. Chelsea followed that up with a 2-0 win at the Bridge, with Jackson once again getting on the scoresheet.

Meanwhile, Tottenham enter this fixture in the midst of turmoil, having suffered a disastrous 1-0 loss at Bournemouth on Thursday.

Not only did that result lead to Spurs dropping out of the top 10, it also sparked boos for Ange Postecoglou, with the Australian enduring an angry exchange with the supporters.

This means the North London heavyweights boast only one win from their last six fixtures, with that sole victory oddly being the 4-0 thrashing of Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.

With tempers boiling, Postecoglou must steady the ship or risk losing the fans. However, inconsistency has plagued Tottenham this season, and with the club sitting seven points adrift of the top four, things could be difficult for the hosts.

Spurs lost both home and away against Chelsea last season and have been a mixed bag against their big-six rivals this term, losing to Arsenal but overcoming the Manchester duo. Injuries have compounded Ange's misery, with several key players set to miss this tie, thus paving a difficult road ahead for Tottenham.

Team news

Tottenham: Ben Davies has become Spurs' latest casualty, joining Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Mikey Moore, Rodrigo Bentancur, Wilson Odobert, and Richarlison on the sidelines. Cristian Romero is close to a return but is unlikely to be risked on Sunday following a toe injury. This means Archie Gray and Radu Dragusin could start in defense.

Chelsea: Maresca has a few concerns as well, with Mykhailo Mudryk falling ill while Reece James and Wesley Fofana are both injured. However, Chelsea's main men are mostly available, with Roberto Sanchez set to start in goal while Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez hold the midfield down. Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson should lead the attack but it will be interesting to see whether Madueke joins the pair after being publicly criticized by the manager over his application during the Southampton win.
