How to watch New England Revolution vs. New York City FC on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021

The New England Revolution enter the game as the kings of the 2021 MLS regular season after winning the Supporters’ Shield by a landslide. The Revs posted the most points – 73 – and the best goal differential – 24 –in the league during the regular season. The team that came the closest to challenge New England for the title was the Colorado Rapids, who amassed 61 points.

There is no question about the Revs and their tools for success, including MLS Comeback Player of the Year recipient Carles Gil. The Spanish attacking midfielder leads the league in assists – 18 – and has four goals to his name. Moreover, Gil’s 117 key passes are the most by a player this season – he is the only player to get past 100.

Joining Gil is the goalkeeper of the year, Matt Turner, the striker partnership of Poland’s Adam Buksa and Argentina’s Gustavo Bou and Generation Adidas standout Tajon Buchanan. Buksa, Bou and Buchanan account for 39 of New England’s 65 goals.

The Revs will face a worthy opponent in New York City FC, a team coming off a commanding 2-0 win against Atlanta United at Yankee Stadium last Sunday.

NYCFC displayed its firepower capabilities throughout the season, ranking third in a three-way tie with the Portland and DC United at 56. Argentina’s Valentin Castellanos was in the middle of all the action, scoring 19 goals in the regular season – most in the league.

New York and New England played three times in the regular season. The Revs won two and the team from the Bronx the other. However, NYCFC is yet to face Bou, Buksa and Gil on the pitch at the same time. Defending that trio will be a test for New York’s defense.
