Neymar issues positive injury update ahead of Brazil-Korea Republic clash

Neymar Jr has significantly boosted Brazil's chances of progressing to the quarter-final after recovering in time for the upcoming clash with Korea Republic. The 30-year-old rejoined his teammates in Friday's training after seating on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward picked up his injury in Brazil's opening Group G win against Serbia and, as a result, could not feature in the subsequent 1-0 victory over Switzerland on Monday. The MRI scan after the incident revealed that Neymar had suffered lateral ligament damage to his right ankle. The former Barcelona star was then forced to sit out the final group game against Cameroon which his side lost by a goal to nil on Friday.

Nevertheless, on Saturday night, Neymar put all doubts around his availability to bed. The forward was pictured in Brazil's training session ahead of Monday's Round of 16 encounter with Korea Republic. Following the conclusion of the night's activity, the PSG star took to his Twitter page to issue an update with the caption; "I feel good, I knew that I would now".
